I’ve run into an issue with the Sketchfab exporter for 3DS Max, where it seems it doesn’t recognize the render engine I have set correctly. With my render engine set to V-ray, or Corona, I receive an error that stats: "Light baking needs Vray, Scanline, Corona or Mental Ray. You have V_Ray_6_Hotfix_2 (or, if Corona is set to render engine: Corona) as renderer. Obviously, this is the most recent version of V-ray. I should mention I’m working in 3DSMax 2023.3 running on windows 10.
This is the script I installed direct from Autodesks website ( https://apps.autodesk.com/3DSMAX/en/Detail/Index?id=6970706679529123861&appLang=en&os=Win64 ).
Oddly, that website links to the sketchfab exporter site, which actually has a download to an older version of the script, developed by Klaas Nienhuis, but hasn’t been updated in 4 years. That script however, does seem to work. Just for some reason, it does not stay installed on my machine (maybe a separate permissions issue, or maybe Autodesk app is scanning and removing it because it is outdated, i am not sure). Fixing either of these issues would make me happy. I’m surprised I seem to be the only one baking Vray textures in 3dsmax to get them onto Sketchfab. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
