Awesome challenge! I’m going to take part and so far I have the following WIP…
Honestly, I have absolutely no idea what the fantasy ‘twist’ is going to be yet. I figured I would develop some ideas while working on creating an accurate replica of the landmark. I also decided to go big with this one and I’m attempting to use MagicaVoxel to make the model in pieces and assemble them in Blender so it has taken quite a bit of planning to figure out the scale of everything.
You’re all welcome to take a guess at what the monument is as well. It will become very obvious when I put it all together…

Here’s a quick update on my landmark. Still considering a few options for the fantasy element, but I still have a ways to go to complete the landmark so I’ll play around with a few different ideas this week and see what works.
Hmm…I might try and enter, but not sure what landmark I will try and do yet

Here’s a quick render of what I have so far. Unfortunately I’ve realized that the model is a little over the upload limit so I might have to try and decimate to get it under 50mb which is a shame 
I’ll see what I can figure out but if anyone has experience with MagicaVoxel and Blender I’d really appreciate some advice!
