Feature requests: notification title, custom environments, annotions

(Gerrit Schulze) #1

I like SF a lot and find the improvements your team implemented to it during the last year are very useful. However I have a few ideas and the question, if you might consider to implement some of my wishes, please. Those are:

  1. The email notification message 'Your model is ready' could contain an abbreviation of the model's title

  2. I would love to upload custom environments. I create environments myself by either taking HDRI or virtually with HDR Light Studio

  3. Normally I create my own perspectives with Vray cameras. Is there any chance to import them as annotations?

  4. When re-uploading a model, it would be nice to preserve scene settings and annotations

Thanks,
Gerrit

Hey, thanks for the feedback!

  1. Good idea.

  2. A GUI for uploading custom environments is something we would like to implement in the future. For now, if you send us your HDR file(s), we can add them to your account manually.

  3. There has been some testing for converting animations in Blender ( http://forum.sketchfab.com/t/exporting-blender-camera-animation-to-sketchfab-work-in-progress/1044 ) and 3ds Max ( http://forum.sketchfab.com/t/exporting-3ds-max-camera-animation-to-sketchfab-work-in-progress/1271 ), into Sketchfab camera animations ( https://sketchfab.com/developers/viewer/customanimation ), but we don't have a public Annotations endpoint yet, so that would be trickier.

  4. We're looking into this. Scene / Light settings should be ok, but Annotations would be more difficult because it depends on the mesh geometry, which is completely re-processed during re-upload.

Thanks,
James
