Hello! This is very interesting competiton. This is my first try to make modular asset, I hope it will be good enough. I will try to make medieval asset using my country’s medieval architecture as reference.

I’ve just sent you instructions on how to claim your free Medieval Fantasy Cardboard viewer. Check your private messages here on the forum. Good luck!!
Thank you Bart
I hope I will claim grand prize too
Different colors most probably will be individual assets. Fortress is placed on hill, and surrounded by mountains. In front of the fortress will be village. Road will go through the village and to the fortress. Mountain will be covered with forest. I will separate all models to individual assets when I complete whole scene.
There is still a lot to be done here!
As a reference I used this castle:
It is castle in the Ostrožac if anyone is wondering.
Sorry for not posting more updates of progress. Most of the job is done, there is some texturing to be done.
@bartv I have problem with my normal maps. When I uploaded my model normal maps were ok, but today they are messed. What happened?
My normal map yesterday
Normal map today.
I’m using normal maps to reduce polycount, so when I finish everything it should be no more than 25k. There are 10 textures using normal maps (7 of them 512x512, and 3 of them 256x256). All textures are shared between models.
@ismir We have updated something in our normal map compression handling.
It looks like it’s behaving badly with small normalmap (<512?), there’s not much you can do from your side at the moment, we’ll try to fix it and keep you up to date when we know more.
OK. Thank you. I tought I was doing something wrong. I noticed it only with published models, but when I edit them in 3d Settings they come back to normal.
My final scene.
Everything sorted in collection
