How to import a 3D paid model into Spoke

Hi,

I’m quite new to this so please understand my ignorance. I have purchased a 3D model from sketchfab and intend to use it in Spoke to be used for a virtual art gallery in Mozilla Hubs. I understand it can be as simple as copying the URL from sketchfab into spoke. However, it won’t work. Any tips on how to resolve this?

Kind regards,
Talbert

Hi @talbert.anthony28 - it looks like the URL copy and paste is only available for freely downloadable 3D models on Sketchfab.

I imagine the Spoke Team would need to add some kind of authentication to allow for copy-paste of Store bought 3D models so that they can check you’ve purchased the asset.

It looks like Spoke only accepts .GLB files, not .glTF + .bin + textures too.

I got this model into Spoke using the following steps, the process should be the same for a Store model:

  1. Download glTF version of the models from Sketchfab
  2. Use a tool like GLTF to GLB: online GLTF to GLB converter for free to convert to the .gltf + .bin + textures
  3. Download the resulting GLB and drag and drop onto your Spoke scene

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply! I only saw this today as the email ended up in my spam folder!

I’ll certainly try your method! Thanks again.
