Hi, is it possible to have one mesh lit, another unlit? Im trying to achieve a headlight effect similar to the one here... https://sketchfab.com/models/275e1879e8034019ba480a5ca6ac7d05

id like my vehicle to be lit but the headlights to be unlit - Im assuming this is what is done in this example?

thanks for your help!
Nick

This is just clever use of the Emission and Transparency channels.

Another great example: https://blog.sketchfab.com/art-spotlight-kumiko-hibike-euphonium/

There is no diffuse, just emission, which allows the instrument to have reflection while the rest of the scene is cartoon shaded

Note that in PBR mode, it's a bit more tricky to have a purely shadeless material.
One way to do it is :
- 1x1 pixel black texture in AO channel (with occlude specularo on)
- albedo, roughness, spec f0 set to 0

oh wow - thanks. A lot for me to look into (and learn)!
