Journey through the planet core - Annotated scene

(Romainrevert) #1

Hello ! Happy to see this type of contest. International and with great prizes.
So, Naboo planet core for me. I love the ambiance of this sequence. The danger is everywhere, gigantic creatures eating each other. For the moment, I plan to do 3 annotations.

Here's a little rough concept of one annotation...

(Bart) #2

Welcome on board! I've added one month of Sketchfab PRO to your account so you can use up to 20 annotations and upload larger files. Enjoy

Thx Bart !

Here's some low poly models for my annotations layout.

And a storyboard, maybe subject to change but the idea is here.
1 - Journey to the planet core, where the death is everywhere...
2 - In the shadow...
3 - Or too impatient to slaughter you !
4 - But there's always a bigger fish !

My next goal is to define the art style. Don't know if I do low poly or cartoon... cartoon low poly ?

I take a break for the weekend. Next update, Monday !
This contest is a real challenge for me. I need to make the 3D really fast because I take care of my 4 month old baby all day long. I only work when he sleep ! And he don't sleep very well haha ! <3

Okay this is the real last post before the week end !

all the best!

(Zachary Hixson) #14

The color in this is awesome! Keep it up!

(Krzysztof Zwolinski) #15

Love the style,
If you models are mirror sided do not waste textures to do both sides its pointless if those sides are the same.

(Gary Phelps) #16

Amazing! I'm with everyone else on the art style. I love it!

(Bart) #17

I've just posted a contest update. Enjoy!

(Romainrevert) #19

@KrzysztofZwolinski Yeah I know, I don't very like symetric thing. But I'm not very good at UVmapping either haha !

Thx to everyone
And thx @bartv for the spotlight :grinning:

You can always differentiate side by using decals (simply planes with textures with alpha).
Then You have the same texture size but 2xbeter picture quality . You can use the same texture for decals if you have space

I've removed the spotlights, as someone pointed out that it wasn't quite fair and would help people get many views/likes
