What I am asking is how I might make use of this clever “Object Masking” technique in my traditional 3D software pipeline. I am unable to download the file and see what’s going on. Perhaps you guys can grab a peek and share what you learn.
It is a super valuable technique and would love to use it to create animated surfaces for a large group of USDZ assets currently in production for our iOS AR application.

Looking at this Quill video at 2:00 it seems that object/animation opacity is painted on with an alpha matt. Interesting
