Rendering issue in Chrome on iMac Mojave

Hi, on an iMac 2012 running Mojave, with a Nvidia GeForce GTX 680MX 2GB graphics card, we are experiencing some glitchy performance on our models in Chrome and in Firefox, but not in Safari. Sometimes models appear like checkerboard, or start looking like they’re falling apart or get other weird glitchiness (see image below). Does anyone know what the issue could be?

I can reproduce usually when I resize the browser window. Since this is happening in Chrome, we’re particularly concerned about how many of our audience will see this glitch.

Just an update that I think this is the viewer becoming corrupt, not necessarily the model.

Can you please share a screenshot of this report (just the WebGL 1 page is fine) from each browser?

I suspect it’s something to do with the older machine / GPU. Most users will not see that behavior.

Hi @james, here you go.

Hi @james, I was wondering if you’ve had time to review the screenshots I sent? I’m surprised to see these issues with a computer that’s about 7-8 years old. I imagine typical users wouldn’t have the newest computers. Could this actually be a bug with the viewer?

It’s a bug on a combination of Graphic Card, OSX version and Chrome/firefox “angle” (shared code that does webgl)

We have unfortunately no control on that level, but we reported here https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=1054040#c8 and google reported to Apple.
We monitor it and will check what we can do when we get more informations from their side.

Note that It’s a rare combination that represent a very very tiny portion of sketchfab users. Osx user are a few of sketchfab user and most of them on different hardware.
