Smoothed mesh topology

Hi i have a question regarding uploading a smoothed model. I realize that i can do a conversion of a smoothed mesh preview to polygons in maya, but my topology wont be the same as the unsmoothed version. is there a way to upload a smoothed version of my mesh and retain the original topology? like how in maya if you press 3.


Maybe “soften edge” can help to resolve this, (mesh display -> soften edge) it applies a smoothing without modify the geometry
