Texture quality degredation between 3d settings and regular view

Greetings,

Having issues with a particular model’s textures, specifically the normal maps, getting degraded after about 10 minutes after uploading, and this problem disappears when viewing in 3D settings.

I’ve had a look around on the forum and seen a few people with this issue and no fix as it’s due to Sketchfab’s normal map compression pipeline, but I was hoping there was some workaround until we can have uncompressed normal maps. I’ve tried different file formats, higher resolutions (4k) and re-baking the normal maps but to no avail.

This is due to our texture compression. Soon we are implementing a solution to use the uncompressed version for cases where the compressed version is not high enough quality.

We’ve implemented an option to reprocess normal maps losslessly to avoid compression artifacts. I’ve reprocessed the model(s) here for you, and you can find more information here:
