Using 3D models for painting practice

I’m a painter who runs zoom painting classes, most of which are free. Is it OK for me to use the models as subject matter for the sessions? I will credit the maker of course. I realize that some models are not free to download but can still be viewed for free and so the whole group can paint the same object. Is there a policy on this?

In general, using this for non-commercial purposes will be fine. If you want to be 100% sure we recommend you contact the artist whose work you want to use and ask them for permission.

Thanks bartv. That makes sense.

Thanks for the advice, I’ll have a look. It’s great to look at the variety of people’s creations and using them as a starting point for a painting, which is then transformed into something new.
