WebVR idea: replace browser split-view with single-eye view

(Aleahy) #1

Hi, when showing sketchfab scenes using webVR with a headset and a large LCD screen it would be great if the browser view didn't go into split left-right eye view but instead stayed in single camera view with head tracking.

This is especially useful when presenting a sketchfab scene to a group of people who are mostly looking at the mirror-screen while only one is wearing the headset. At the moment whenever I need to show/explain some detail within the model I switch out of VR mode and have to remove the headset from the wearer.

So basically stop doing what it currently does which is this....

.. and instead do something similar to "Simple Mirroring pt 2" sample at https://webvr.info/samples/

It's planned, not very high in the roadmap but it will be done!
