Where's the EXPORT for Sketchfab's Blender 2.8 plugin

Hi there, recently downloaded the updated 1.0.2 sketchfab plugin from here : https://github.com/sketchfab/glTF-Blender-IO/releases/tag/1.0.2 (3/13/2019)

I was just wondering where the export button is

Hi @deuschanz,

This plugin only allows model import, and the only exporter available is distributed with Blender but it is not available yet for Blender 2.8.
We are going to rewrite it and merge it with this new plugin, adding new features taking advantage of the new Sketchfab data API.
It’s planned for the short term but we didn’t start to work on it yet

(Also, Blender 2.8 .blend files are not supported on Sketchfab yet (also planned), so the only way for now is to export into a 3d file (FBX/OBJ) and upload it manually to Sketchfab)

gotcha, just got confused with the name IMPORT-EXPORT on the plugin release specifications.

I’m guessing this new SF plugin for 2.8 is going to take some time, since 2.8 hasn’t solidified what they’re going to do yet

Exactly - 2.8 is still changing too quickly for us to want to risk spending a lot of energy on it.

I am cross-positing a little here… sorry… but I’ve literally just posted about my add-on for Blender. I saw this just as I was logging off.

It’s not a full exporter, but it automates the complicated process of baking in Blender to make it easy to get your models onto Sketchfab (and other software and services).

Is there an update to when the SF export function for Blender 2.8 may be available?

We’re still working on that, and we want to integrate the importer and exporter into one plugin.

In the mean time though, we did add support for direct upload of 2.80 files:

Hey, just hoping to follow up on this. Trying to export models from Blender into SketchFab right now and I can’t seem to find any plugin/add on anywhere for it. Any updates?

You can grab our latest Blender importer/exporter plugin from Github:

Got it thanks! @bartv Quick question. I’m using Blender 2.82. I installed the newest plugin (v1.2.1) and it says it’s located under View3d --> Tools. I can’t find “View3D” anywhere. I did some google searching about it and nothing helpful has come up. Can you please explain where this is located?

Forgive me if I’m missing something obvious here, but I can’t locate the installed addon. The instructions say it’s located under “View3D --> Tools”, but I can’t find anything that says that in Blender 2.82. Can someone please clarify this?

I had installed the previous version 1.1.0 and it just showed up below the toolbar in the 3D viewport, but it told me to update to the latest version, which apparently puts it in a different place? The location path appears to be the same, but as you can see in the images below they do not produce the same result when enabled.

Here’s w V 1.1.0

Here’s w V 1.2.1

It’s in the Sidebar view. By default, you can press the N key to toggle this, or go to View → Sidebar .
